‘Captain America: Civil War’ Plot: Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Says Story Is ‘Simple’; Chris Evans Calls It ‘A Family Dispute’

Posted by staff in Aug 27,2015 with No Comments

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige explains “Captain America: Civil War’s” plot.

Feige sat down with Zap2it and revealed that the second post credits scene in “Ant-Man” actually takes place in the middle of “Civil War,” and that it will “play a part at a cerain point in that film.”

He also compared “Avengers: Age of Ultron” which “had a lot going on” to the upcoming movie, which he reveals will actually be “simple.”

“Civil War’ is a relatively simple story,” Feige explained, adding the movie “is a surprisingly grounded story about two characters that most audience members have come to know and like and admire finding themselves on different sides of a political argument, like the country does on many occasions, and how they both respond to that.

“That’s the story. So it’s actually a very, very simple story, and then how their personal relationships fit into that.”

Franchise star Chris Evans also spoke about “Captain America: Civil War’s” plot and described it to be some sort of a “family” affair.

“We definitely have gloves on, but it’s more of a family dispute. That’s what’s so great about this movie and the characters and how they work together. It’s more so when you have a sibling rivalry,” Evans told IGN. “The reason people can relate to these characters so much is because they can relate to what they’re going through.”  Read the rest of this entry »

Chris Evans to narrate Patriots documentary ‘America’s Game’

Posted by staff in Aug 27,2015 with No Comments

Chris Evans of Sudbury will narrate “America’s Game,” the NFL Network’s story about the Patriots’ 2014 Super Bowl win, he said in a tweet Tuesday night. The show will air Sept. 8 at 10 p.m.

In the trailer for the show, Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, and Devin McCourty all comment on the season as scenes from the Super Bowl play. A highlight is when Malcolm Butler’s game-winning interception is spliced together with Tom Brady emitting a high-pitched scream and jumping up and down. Evans’s voiceover does not appear.

“No matter what happens in the rest of your football career,” said McCourty, “you can say, ‘I was a Super Bowl champion, I felt the confetti fall on me.’”

Evans, best known for his role as Captain America in the “Avengers” movies, is somewhat of a Patriots superfan. He made a 2014 Super Bowl bet with Seattle fan Chris Pratt. When Pratt (and Seattle) lost, Pratt had to dress as his character from “Guardians of the Galaxy” — but sporting a Tom Brady jersey — and visit children at a Boston charity. Evans also appeared in Jimmy Kimmel’s “Locker Room Guy” video with other Boston-area celebrities, such as Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, mocking Deflategate. [Source]

Chris Evans to Star in Marc Webb’s Drama ‘Gifted’

Posted by staff in Aug 22,2015 with No Comments

Chris Evans and Marc Webb are both taking a step back from the superhero universe.

Evans is set to star in Webb’s upcoming drama “Gifted” for Fox Searchlight. Tom Flynn penned the film, which follows a man who sues for custody of his gifted niece. “Gifted” — Webb’s first film since “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” — is expected to start shooting this fall.

Webb is also setting up “The Only Living Boy in New York,” starring Miles Teller, with Jeff Bridges and Rosamund Pike in talks to join.

Although Evans has made a name for himself as Captain America in the Marvel universe, the actor has been drawn to more dramatic roles lately. He recently starred and made his directorial debut in the Sundance drama “Before We Go” opposite Alice Eve. Evans also appeared in the critically raved sci-fi action pic “Snowpiercer.” He can be seen next reprising his role of Steve Rogers in “Captain America: Civil War.”

Evans is repped by CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment.

The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood. [Source]

‘Captain America 3: Civil War’ SPOILERS UPDATE: Winter Soldier Is Back! Black Panther To Join Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Posted by staff in Jul 22,2015 with No Comments

“Captain America 3: Civil War” Spoilers — Ever since “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” ended last year, Marvel fans have been anticipating Steve Rogers (Captain America) and his best friend Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) to reunite soon. And while Captain America’s search was brought up in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” fans were left with little information regarding the world’s second super soldier.

As the excitement about the upcoming “Captain America 3: Civil War” intensifies, speculations circulated that Captain America and Falcon have found the Winter Soldier before Civil War begins. According to Enstars, the film will highlight an exchange between Falcon and Captain America and will reveal their plans for saving a besieged Bucky Barnes in a remote location where he is held.

“Falcon asks Cap, ‘Should I call Stark?’ He replied ‘No’ before Falcon says ‘I know who to call,'” the scene’s dialogue goes, Hollywood Hero quoted.

As Steve Rogers and Tony Stark kick off a brawl in “Captain America 3: Civil War,” Black Panther reportedly have an interesting role in the highly-anticipated film, Christian Today revealed. While it is unclear what would Black Panther’s participation be, one thing is for sure: the King of Wakanda will never choose sides. Instead, he will simply be introduced in the budding Marvel Cinematic Universe. Read the rest of this entry »
